Tertiary EFL Learners' Attitudes towards Graded Readers

The use of different literary texts in language learning and teaching was undertaken many research articles, reviews, dissertations. Several studies have indicated the effectiveness literature learning. One used to teach a foreign or second is graded readers which are simplified versions original texts. This qualitative case study intends investigate tertiary EFL learners’ attitudes towards Participants were 11 English preparatory class students at Turkish state university. Data for gathered through semi-structured individual interviews. Interviews transcribed analysed using thematic content analysis. Findings suggest that positive readers, they feel those help them improve their skills; reading, writing, speaking, vocabulary knowledge, grammar. Interview data also revealed process reader activity, learners reading strategies higher-order thinking skills such as critical thinking, collaboration communication although not taught instructed them.
